The 2DCC employs two techniques to transfer transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) monolayer and few-layer films from sapphire to oxidized silicon, patterned devices, TEM grids and other surfaces. The first process uses PMMA and thermal release tape and allows for the layers to be transferred using de-ionized water only. The second technique uses PMMA and a dilute NaOH solution. The details of this process and the development of this process were published in the journal Nanotechnology (Fu Zhang et al 2018 Nanotechnology 29 025602).
