Kickoff Meeting / Inaugural Glass Day
We are excited to announce the official launch of the Center for Glass Research (CGR)! To start this milestone, we are hosting our inaugural kickoff meeting and bringing together leading experts in glass research from academia and industry. This event will provide a dynamic forum for industries, researchers, and faculties from Penn State, Missouri S&T, and Alfred University to share insights, discuss collaborative opportunities, and explore priorities in research and workforce development. The agenda will feature speakers and presentations on current challenges, proposal opportunities, and future directions in glass science, technology and workforce development, along with panel discussions highlighting cutting-edge research and enabling technologies. The kickoff meeting will be held on October 29, 2025, with optional participation in Penn State’s Materials Day on October 28. We also invite you to join us for a special reception from 4:30–6:00 PM on October 28, dedicated to honoring the legacy of Carlo Pantano.
