MRI Facilities

MRI coordinates, administers, and supports several state-of-the-art research, fabrication, and characterization facilities at Penn State in addition to facilities available through the various colleges, departments, and materials research centers across campus. Many of the facilities below have full-time professional staff, and facilities are available to students, faculty, researchers, and to outside industry and government researchers. A few of the shared facilities below are one-of-a-kind, state-of-the-art installations in this region of the US.

User Facilities

• Materials Characterization Laboratory (MCL) - a fully staffed analytical laboratory offering a range of state-of-the-art techniques
  
  

• (National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network) NNIN @ Penn State - facilities that enable fabrication of a wide range of electrical, optical, and micromechanical devices
  
  

• The Nanofabrication Laboratory - world-class expertise combined with state-of-the-art facilities
  
  

• W. M. Keck Smart Materials Integration Laboratory (Keck SMIL) - allowing scientists to create a new generation of smart integrated components
