2DCC Inert Atmosphere Cluster Tool Enables Air-Sensitive Materials Research

2DCC provides unique capabilities for the transfer, stacking and characterization of air-sensitive van der Waals materials and 2D layers through its inert atmosphere cluster tool which is designed to maintain ultra-low oxygen and moisture environments. The tool, which is housed in two co-joined gloveboxes, features a state-of-the-art transfer stage from HQ Graphene, an atomic force microscope from Asylum Research (MFP-3D Origin+) and integrated physical vapor deposition capabilities from Island e-Beam.

These capabilities support the assembly of complex heterostructures, large-area films, and lithography-free devices from air-sensitive 2D materials. By providing a controlled environment throughout the full experimental workflow, the 2DCC inert atmosphere cluster tool opens new opportunities for studying emergent quantum phenomena and developing next-generation electronic and optoelectronic devices.
