This is a workshop for anyone interested in the capabilities of Electron Probe MicroAnalysis (EPMA), which uses characteristic x-rays to quantitatively analyze solid samples. Current users, prospective users, or the simply curious are all welcome. The course will take place over two days and include instruction from both EPMA manufacturers: CAMECA and JEOL. The first day will be an introduction to basic operation, components of the microprobe, and general applications. The second day will be focused on specialized applications such as low keV analysis and soft x-ray analysis, including new and future capabilities for analyzing Li. There will also be plenty of time for discussion of specific problems that might be solved using EPMA.
Further details will be forthcoming.
To make additional inquiries or to reserve your place, please send an email to Dr. Katherine L. Crispin (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Instructors are To Be Announced, but will be provided by both CAMECA and JEOL.
Registration will go live on October 1, 2017.
