Alem Research Group

Welcome To Alem Research Group!

We are an experimental electron microscopy research group led by Prof. Nasim Alem in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University.

We are actively studying the structural, electronic, and chemical properties of novel materials such as two-dimensional transitional metal dichalcogenides (2D-TMDs), carbon nanothreads, meta-lattices materials, and complex oxides.

In our research group, we investigate the properties of the materials mainly with a variety of advanced techniques in the transmission electron microscope (TEM), such as aberration-corrected STEM, monochromated EELS, four-dimensional STEM and so on.
