Dreamweaver Template
Striving for a more unified, accessible, and usable presence on the web, guidelines and policies for Web sites have been set forth by Penn State (AD54) and the federal government (section 508). To this end, MRI IT has developed a Dreamweaver template which is section 508 and AD54 compliant, 3WC, Hera, and Hermish approved for accessibility and usability – and we are offering it for free to all sites on our servers!
The benefits of using this template include:
-
a clean, consistent, usable and accessible experience for end-users
-
Section 508 compliance ensures you meet federal funding guidelines
-
AD54 compliance will bring your site up to PSU’s required standards
-
the Dreamweaver Site Manager and template functions will make it easier for your webmaster to maintain and update your site
-
the built in Google site-specific search appliance will make finding information easier – this search appliance is capable of searching even PDF files on your site
-
scripting and code which will hide email addresses on the site from spam-bots (automated crawlers which harvest email addresses for spam lists)
-
editable page-level keywords and descriptive phrases
-
improved Google search rankings
