ABOUT DR. DICKEY
Elizabeth ("Beth") Dickey is Professor of Materials Science and Engineering and Associate Director of the Materials Research Institute (MRI) at The Pennsylvania State University. Her research focuses on interfacial phenomena of materials.
After earning her PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University, she spent three years on the faculty at the University of Kentucky before joining the Penn State faculty in 2001. In her role as MRI Associate Director, she is in charge of the Institute's Materials Characterization Laboratory, a shared user facility with more than twenty technical staff members and a variety of state-of-the-art analytical tools for materials characterization.
