External Users

There are certain research services, including specialized materials characterization, that the University is uniquely qualified to offer our constituencies because of our involvement in fundamental research. These research services are an important component of the University’s fulfillment of its charter as a Land Grant University. Therefore, MCL offers researchers at other academic institutions and in industry access to its wide range of state-of-the-art analytical instrumentation and tools. These external research projects will be accepted provided:

 

  1. there is time available on the equipment;
  2. there is not an equivalent research service offered by a for-profit company at a lower rate; and
  3. the external users agree to and sign an academic research services order that covers issues such as confidentiality and intellectual property.

 

Interested parties are encouraged to contact the MCL Administrative Office by phone at 814-865-2328 to discuss your potential project and begin the process of completing a research services order form.
