Technique Description
- The Hot Isostatic Press (HIP) is primarily used to eliminate voids in sintered electronic ceramic, making a more structurally sound unit. Densification of ceramic materials is achieved by means of temperature and pressure.
- The technique description for the Cold Isostatic Press (CIP) is coming soon.
- Another technique available upon request is the Hot Press, for which a technique description is coming soon.
Sample Requirements/Specifications
- Sample requirements for the HIP:
- Maximum temperature: 1200°C
- Maximum pressure: 3000 psi
- Atmosphere: compressed air or mixture of argon/oxygen
- Sample size: 1.250" x .625" maximum
