One or more faculty in each of the following colleges and departments is engaged in materials education and research. Each department offers BS, MS, and PhD degrees. The Department of Materials Science and Engineering offers specialized options and students may also obtain M.S. or Ph.D. degrees, with options in Materials Engineering and Materials Science.

Graduate Programs in Materials
Masters and Ph.D degrees are offered through two separate materials programs at Penn State. The College of Earth and Mineral Sciences grants M.S. and Ph.D degrees in Materials Science and Engineering. Students may specialize in one of the following four options: General, Ceramic Science, Metals Science and Engineering, and Polymer Science.
