Materials Science & Technology 2005
Conference and Exhibition
Pittsburgh, PA Sept 25-28
The largest materials conference of the year was held in Pittsburgh in late September, and Penn State and the Materials Research Institute were well represented. Penn State materials researchers chaired sessions, gave invited talks, and presented nearly a dozen papers. The MS&T conference was organized by five leading materials-related societies and drew more than 8,000 materials scientists and engineers. One of the societies, ASM International, the Materials Information Society, offered a Materials Camp for Pittsburgh-area high school students during the conference to interest them in careers in materials science and engineering. MRI was represented on the exhibition floor by a booth with information about Penn State's leading role in materials research and technology transfer.
