Crystal chemistry, phase equilibria, glass structure and properties, infrared and Raman spectroscopy, phosphors and luminescence spectroscopy, mineral physics, hydrogeology of karstic carbonate aquifers and contaminant transport, environmental aspects of materials, mine land remediation.
