Research Synopsis:

Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) studies of polymers at surfaces, and surfaces modified by self-assembled monolayers. Polymer/inorganic nanocomposite materials, polymers reinforced by inorganic fillers, and polymer/silicate hybrid nanocomposites. Fundamentals of polymers confined in nanometric dimensions. Smart/Responsive polymers with tunable response, with special emphasis on those systems used for "surface" modifications.
