Research Synopsis:

Nanophase and nanocomposite materials processing, sol-gel chemistry of ceramics, chemically bonded ceramics, synthesis, characterization and property evaluation of porous materials, new materials preparation and new processing techniques using microwave and ultrasonic fields, chemistry of clays, oxides and zeolites in relation to cation separations and purification, water sorption and desorption,nuclear and hazardous waste disposal, and kinetics and thermodynamics of cation exchange in minerals.

Technologies Impacted by Research:

Nanotechnology, ceramic colors, electroceramic industries, air-conditioning systems using gas energy, remediation and nuclear and other waste disposal, agriculture and catalytic industries.
