Accomplishments/Education:
Henry has a BA in Chemistry (1972) from Hunter College in New York City where he also minored in mathematics. He followed this up with a M.S. in geochemistry (1975) from Penn State and has been here ever since in the positions of Project Associate and Senior Analytical Chemist
Background/Bio:
Born and raised in New York City, Henry came to a verdant paradise nestled in the hills of central Pennsylvania in the 1970’s and has been in State College ever since. Henry and his wife Pat are the proud parents of three daughters, two of whom are Penn State students. Henry’s hobbies include reading, traveling, and photography. He has exhibited his photography in the Central Pa. Festival of the Arts, the People’s Choice Festival, and other local shows. He also designs and runs websites in his spare time.
Responsibilities:
Henry is fond of quoting the old saying "I have a very responsible position. If anything goes wrong, I’m responsible!"
Seriously, however, his position entails many responsibilities and the key to his job is his wide degree of flexibility. He has analyzed a wide variety of materials, been responsible for the maintenance and operation of many major pieces of equipment, assisted in the teaching of various labs and classes, designed and ran the original MCL website, and served as facilitator for various analytical questions from within and without the university.
