Background/Bio:
Born in Clearfield County PA, moved to Washington, D.C. in 1980, after 17 years living life in the fast lane, moved back to the quite small town country life just outside of State College, where I have been learning home improvement from "Tim the Tool Man". Spare time I spend time with my nephew, though whom I get to be a kid once again
Responsibilities:
Perform FESEM, ESEM, AFM and XRD analysis, set analytical protocols, interpret results. Prepare samples for EPMA, FESEM and XRD; operate metallography equipment including mounting, cutting, polishing, and thin film coatings.
Manage sample preparation laboratory for SEM, TEM, XRD and EPMA. Perform maintenance of microscopy and x-ray equipment; troubleshoot electronic, mechanical and vacuum problems. Train graduate students in the operation of FESEM, AFM and metallographic sample preparation.
Serve on safety/facilities committee for MRI; serve as chemical waste supervisor for MCL in the MRI building.
