Piezoelectric Transformers

 

In order to replace the conventional coil-type electromagnetic transformers with disadvantages in large size (particularly in height), heavy weight, and generation of magnetic field, we are developing piezoelectric transformers. We have succeeded to demonstrate a drive system for the piezoelectric multilayer actuators for active vibration control (Photo 2) and a drive circuit-integrated ultrasonic motor (Photo 3), using a 100 W level piezo-transformer.
