MRI Safety - Training
NEW EMPLOYEE DIRECTIONS
(Includes Grad-students, Post-docs, and Wage Payroll)
- New employees must first report to MRI Human Resources 204 MRL building.
- You must also complete the safety training courses listed below.
- Upon completion of the courses, bring a copy of the results to Amy Davis (

) in the MRL Building Main Office.
- Office, Phone, Computer, Parking Pass, and MRL/Research Unit A (RUA) Building Keys will be assigned as necessary through the MRI HR office 204 MRL Building.
- If you will have an office in the MRI building you must report to Jaime Reish (

) in 184 MRI for keys.

- PSU EHS Hazardous Waste Training
- Register on-line, you will need a Penn State Access (Email) ID or FPS (Friends of Penn State) ID to register for class: https://apps.opp.psu.edu/ehs_training/index.cfm Click on COURSES and then CHEMICAL SAFETY and select an INITIAL training session.
- Anyone that works with chemicals must complete EH&S Chemical and Hazardous Waste Handling.
- This training must be completed before you can gain access to laboratories or other areas where chemical work or exposure is possible.

- Now on your screen you see several links near the upper middle of the screen within the text, online course and training handouts
- Click on: online course
- Once you have reviewed the online material go back to the page where you clicked on the links (start at step b above if you closed your browser), then click on complete under the Classes heading
- Specific Lab Use – Training scheduled by request.
- Nanofab Use – Onsite/Hands-On training and orientation session
- EEW – Onsite orientation
- MCL – Onsite orientation
- Keck – Onsite orientation
