Multiferroics, Metamaterials, Laser Ceramics

We have three research areas of current interest:

Our research work is centered around understanding structure-property relationships in optical materials, in developing quantitative nonlinear optical probes, and scanning probe microscopy tools to study electronic, nanoscale and mesoscale structure in materials, and in using this basic knowledge to design and demonstrate electro-optic and fiber based optoelectronic devices. Our research work straddles the boundaries between materials science, applied physics, and optical engineering. Theory, modeling and simulation form an essential component of all our work, and usually go hand-in-hand with experiments.
